Job Description – Director of Sales & Strategy

Position Background. The Director of Sales will lead the company’s overall Sales strategy. She/He will ensure that the company is delivering the best quality service and support to our clients as well as our partners. They will manage all sales engagements and provide guidance to company marketing efforts as well. They will attend industry events, conferences, and present RKB’s solutions to the marketplace.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Support overall company Sales strategy and define Sales KPIs.
  • Develop new relationships with building owners, property managers, and building engineers to provide direct services or refer them to the appropriate group to address their needs.
  • Provide guidance and direction to sales staff.
  • Provide guidance and support of integration of services with utility incentive and state grant programs.
  • Develop sales proposals for mechanical, lighting, renewable, and other equipment projects to reduce operating costs and Local Law 97 penalty exposure.
  • Lead meetings, presentations, and other appointments with clients and partners.
  • Ensure that contracts are fulfilled to client expectations and company standards.
  • Provide guidance to marketing strategy.
  • Manage client, partner, contractor, and vendor relationships.
  • Attend networking and industry events.
  • Contribute toward the continued development of tools, templates, and resources.
  • Support the project accounting and billing processes.
  • Ensure on-time delivery of high quality, detailed, error-free products.


Experience Requirements:

  • Experience in Business Development/Sales of professional services in the energy, engineering, or construction industry.
  • Experience with management and staffing.
  • Knowledge of Energy (Mechanical and/or Electrical) Engineering, facilities operations, capital projects, building equipment and/or commissioning.
  • Expert knowledge of Local Law 97, utility incentive programs, and building decarbonization pathways.
  • Experience working with vendors/contractors in Northeast region.
  • Marketing experience a plus.


Skills Requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to anticipate the needs of others.
  • Creative, charismatic, and friendly attitude to sales and working with people.
  • Required: detail-oriented, organized, and ability to produce consistent work quality.
  • Skilled in using Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • QuickBooks Online a plus.
  • Ability to work across a cross-functional team with differing directives and varying priorities.
